November 30. THE GRAPHIC MUSIC SYSTEM BY TOM CHESTERS.

A decade ago Tom Chesters invented a method of reducing standard written music to a simplistic format using a hexaline staff with octave-indicating left-facing flag enumerations on the standard notes appearing on the 12 space-line staff. He also invented a way of graphically referencing this music to all standard instrumentation so music could be played by graphical correspondence between the new music and referenced, improved, uniform keyboards, stringboards, etc. Additionally he provided a conversion means for transposing standard music into the new hexaline music. He called the invention the Graphic Music System and obtained a patent in 1989. For years he attempted to convince various concerns in the music industry that the Graphic Music System would revolutionize the way music is written and played; and then he just gave up. November 30. MAGIC MUSIC FROM THE TELHARMONIUM.

The video Magic Music from the Telharmonium has been released by Magnetic Music Publishing Co. It is about the first electric instrument wich may be called a "synthesizer", the Telharmonium (developed in the 1890s). It was a 200-ton behemoth that created numerous musical timbres and could flood many rooms with sound.

November 20. MICHEL HUYGEN'S ACTIVITIES.

Michel Huygen (Neuronium) has finished the piece "Megaluz" for the sampler Electronic Soundscapes Vol.2. The long awaited reedition of Quasar 2C361 is schedelud for December. It will be a special, remastered, edition. Besides it, Huygen is working in other internet projects. He has finished his work as webmaster for the web of the famous painter Enrique Senis-Oliver.
Huygen is developing new ideas in VRML format (Internet Virtual Reality.)

November 20. DAVID TUDOR'S MUSIC FEATURED ON AN INSTALLATION.

Molly Davies' installation portrait of David Tudor, with six monitors depicting Tudor's music as a process that occurs in parallel with Merce Cunningham's dance Ocean, will be in place in the Installation Gallery at The Kitchen in New York City, NY, USA through November 23 from 7 pm to 11 pm every evening.

November 20. PAUL WINTER'S WINTER SOLSTICE CELEBRATIONS 1997.

Joining Paul Winter for his eighteenth Winter Solstice Celebrations in NewYork's Cathedral of St John the Divine between 11 and 13 December this year will be: the Paul Winter Consort , Irish singer Noirin Ni Riain, Irish Uillean piper Davy Spillane, gospel singer Theresa Thomason, Brazilian guitarist and composer Oscar Castro-Neves, Samba percussion orchestra Pe di Boi directed by Guilherme Franco. For seventeen years, 'Earth Musician' Paul Winter has celebrated the winter solstice in one of the world's largest Gothic cathedrals in a holiday music and theatrical event that has become one of the best-attended celebrations of seasonal change in New York City. Based on an ancient tradition that predates Christmas, Paul Winter's Winter Solstice Celebration attracts more than ten thousand people annually to the vast Cathedral of St John the Divine in New York.The music festival is not only for those who can attend the Cathedral. Broadcast live by National Public Radio (NPR) , it has been among NPR's four most popular cultural program specials of the year for at least the last five years and in 1996 was carried by 193 radio stations around the US.
