BRIEFS:

Canada, June 3. ALTERNATIVE MUSIC AND ART IN VANCOUVER. For four consecutive evenings Dead Voices On Air will perfom live at the Web Cafe in Vancouver (390 West Hasting Street), in collaboration with students from the Vancouver Film School, and in association with MindsCrew.Com. The intent is to produce an interactive multi-media event which evolves and mutates in real time over the course of the 4 evenings of performance, utilizing an eclectic collection of musicians and technicians, and the not inconsiderable technical facilities of the VFS to push the envelope of interactive ambience. This event marks the first in-town performance by Mark Spybey and Dead Voices on Air since 1993: It will be a homecoming performance of sorts, adhering tightly to the DVOA manifesto of 'improvisation, collaboration, and innovation'. The shows will be broadcast live to the World Wide Web and are planned to launch Dead Voices' North American dates as part of the PANAMBIENT tour, and to coincide with re-broadcasts of DVOA's recent 10 hour web-cast from the Lab in Chicago, which drew over 1000 viewers world wide.

Canada, June 3. NEW RELEASE BY JEAN-YVES THERIAULT/THE HOLY BODY TATTOO. Our Brief Eternity (Ex-Voto Records cd002) is the second release by composer Jean-Yves Theriault for the internationally acclaimed dance company The Holy Body Tattoo. Over 58 minutes of music, the CD features a total of 8 tracks, 3 of which are from 'poetry and apocalypse' the film (the BRAVO! new style art channel). As a soundtrack, it is a journey that moves from a trance mood, and sporadically develops into mesmerizing rhythmic patterns which reflect a feeling of harsh desolation.
