January 31, 1999. THE FUTURISTIC MUSIC BY VISION LIQUIDA.

The duo Vision Liquida is formed by Jose Miguel Abollado and Paco Butron.Their electronic music is very attractive and imaginative. Their style fluctuates among the most cosmic areas of Techno, as well as other trends within Space Music. The rhythmic structure of their music tends to be based on the percussion as well as on sequencers. They build melodic themes of a great beauty, and some even turn out to be highly mysterious. Their music is pleasant to listen to and will no doubt appeal to the lovers of rhythmic-melodic electronic music.

Foundation CREW in co-operation with Demo Art present a new festival called CEOS (Classic Electronics On Stage) with Mario Schonwalder & Detlef Keller, Demo Art, Ron Boots, Eric & Harold van der Heijden, Kees Aerts and Amir Baghiri. Date: March 13. Location: Burgerhaus Stollwerk, Cologne, Germany.
Solstice is a CD tribute to Jean-Michel Jarre. This CD includes 11 electronic compositions by several musicians from Spain and Argentina, who are subscribers of the discussion list Fair-Jarre. The themes share the common characteristic that they have been composed under a general focus oriented towards Jarre's style.The artists have used synthesizers & electronic equipment such as, for instance: ARP Odyssey, Prophet 600, Korg M1, E-mu e-64, Ensoniq ASR-10, Ensoniq VFX, Roland JV80 Vintage, and Roland D-20, among others. Most of the pieces are especially composed for this album. Solstice is released by the label Lightnet Music.
On February 4, Iury Lech will give a live performance at the Knitting Factory, New York city. In May, he will play live at the Museum of Contemporany Art in Malaga, Spain. On July 1, he will give a live performance at a ship in the Seine river, Paris, France. On July, he will play live at the cavern of Font Major de l'Espluga de Francoli, Tarragona, Spain. Lech, Stick and Voices is the new project by Iury Lech. For the occasion, Lech is accompanied by two artists: guitarist Satori and singer Ruix.

12 January 1999: Bjorn Lynne takes 4th place in the huge music-contest "Best Band on the Net"! Almost 300 bands participated in this contest, and the result was a combination of votes from visitors and judging by celebrity musicians. The contest was arranged by Kaman Music and sponsored by Ovation, Takamine, Lexicon, Hamer, Boston Acoustics, Toca Percussion, Paiste, Shure, Vater and several others. The celebrity judges featured musicians from Cheap Trick as well as studio musicians who have played with Madonna, Elton John, the Jacksons, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, Steely Dan and many, many others.
"Demon Moon" is one of the songs on Bjorn Lynne's coming CD Wolves of the Gods, to be released in March 1999. This track, along with several other Bjorn Lynne tracks, can be heard at:

This year a CD by Richard Pinhas & Peter Frohmader will be released on Cuneiform Records. It's called Fossile Culture, named after a painting by Frohmader. This month, they will finish the final mix in Munich.
Planetary Traveler, the new work by ex-Tangerine Dream member Paul Haslinger also features TD's Chris Franke. It's a double CD, one containing the soundtrack from an amazing computer graphic video, and one containing Mac and PC compatible images. It is distributed by AMP Records. This label is also distributing D.MO by Robert Schroeder, Jorge by Jorge Riesco, Era by You (a German synth band who is accompanied by Harald Grosskopf in this album), and the sampler 21st Century Music - Electronic Age (electronic music from Italy. Features an unreleased piece from Baffo Banfi, who recorded for Klaus Schulze's label, plus many other pieces).
