EDITORIAL INFORMATION

The writing of the first edition of Gauge Field Theories was spread over ten years. It has been gratifying to learn that the book has been used as a basis for graduate courses in universities and other institutions of higher learning in several different countries. In late 1998 an editor from Wiley convinced me to undertake this second edition. In preparing it, I have updated every chapter.
