EDITORIAL INFORMATION

En Busca del Infinito is conceived to awaken curiosity and provoke reflection. In the first place it examines the physical nature of the infinite based on the particles existing in the cosmos. Then different aspects of the infinite are researched - those in the theory of numbers - Arithmetics and Algebra -, theory of conjuncts and Geometry.

OUR REVIEW

The infinite is such a fascinating concept as it is complex to understand in all its extent on the part of the limited human mind. Although this book will not help us reach this almost superhuman knowledge, it does take us just before the frontier that separates us from this universal mystery. The author gives us different examples of what appears to be the existence of the infinite in our universe. These cases are basically divided into two classes: extreme physical phenomena, like black holes, and mathematical paradoxes. Following these clues, Gibilisco makes us see the amazing implications that The Infinite would have on the universe and on our own lives, if, like all the analyzed data suggest, it exists. The main irony in this search for the Infinite is the fact that, should we meet face to face with it, we would not be able to comprehend it in all its immensity, since it is beyond the possibilities of the human mind.
