OUR REVIEW

Belonging to the Eyewitness Science series with the number 13, we have here a new example of what the editors can do to put the understanding of the scientific world within reach of the general public. Just like in other books in this series, Time & Space is a visual guide of an incredibly educational value. By using a well known technique, the authors devote two pages to each chapter, reviewing whatever has something to do with space and time by means of very simple, clear texts as well as photographs and drawings especially prepared for each aspect they comment on. Thus we are explained how time is measured, the theory of Relativity, black holes, cosmic strings and a great deal of related questions. The basic idea in this kind of books is that of responding to the basic questions the non-specialists could ask themselves (especially children) when they think of such phenomena, without having to deal with scientific texts that they may not understand. Other titles in this series are devoted to electricity, matter, life, chemistry, etc.
