LUTZ ULBRICH

"KURZMUSIKEN"

Manikin Records

Guitarist Lutz Ulbrich is one of the great artists in the musical avantgarde that in the seventies led the birth of the most popular genres in electronic music. Well known for his work in Ashra Tempel and Agitation Free, he collaborated with the legendary artist Nico, has created music for all sorts of media, and in a word, his musical life is intimately intertwined with the history of electronic music itself. This double album includes a magnificient collection of unreleased pieces, selected among over two hundred tapes by the author, to elaborate, in a way, a sort of musical biography outside his work in Ashra Tempel and other bands. The great wealth, originality and variety of the 50 themes here gathered are the best witness to the creative force and the visionary capability of Lutz Ulbrich. We can listen to Space Music, ominous, epic, wondrous, symphonic, psychedelic, progressive, Synth-Pop, with ethnic influences and even music that cannot be labelled, although in all the cases it is a high quality music that breaks all patterns.
