UNIVERS ZERO

"1313"

Cuneiform Records

Medieval Rock would be a good label for this record of the band Univers Zero. Originally produced in 1977, it marked the beginnings of a peculiar manner of making music, an original, disquieting style that was to be better accepted years later rather than at that moment. Like every avantgarde work, in its creation there was a high dose of risk. With elements typical of the most experimental trends of Chamber Music, as well as certain traits of Jazz, the themes in "1313" are remarkable given their timeless nature, as well as their deep and often somewhat bleak character.
