ERNESTO DIAZ-INFANTE

"UCROSS JOURNAL"

Itz'at Musica (BMI) / Pax Recordings

During the month that he spent as a resident artist of the Ucross Foundation, Diaz-Infante created a daily composition, in an improvised way. Each one of these pieces reflected his impressions of the moment and his feelings on that particular day. In the shape of a musical diary, this collection of pieces is thus gathered in this album. The music, solely performed with the piano, is very slow and relaxed, with each sound vanishing into silence before the next one comes. The work presents connections with Classical Music, certain Jazz touches, and a melancholy hue.
