Prudence
The third album that Mergener releases with Prudence
is the result of a fascinating trip to the African continent. Impressed by what he has
seen and heard, the author blends his already known and much admired electronic sounds
with the sonic feeling that comes from Africa. So, the album (11 themes) contains the
customary synthetic atmospheres but also African rhythms, tribal chants and other acoustic
sounds. This is a departure from the type of music of his latest album (Noises in the
Sky) but is a welcome new creative side of this respected and renowned composer.
Probably, a heartfelt tribute to a sometimes forgotten continent.
