CAZENAVE

"RADIO 1, RADIO 3 & BBC RECORDINGS"

Astral

This compact disc gathers a collection of electronic / progressive rock pieces recorded for the famous BBC, Radio 1 (Spain) and Radio 3 (Spain). In 1973, Guillermo Cazenave left the progressive rock band where he was drummer and vocalist, to dedicate his efforts to studying and composing another type of music, directed more towards the new possibilities of electronics.Later, he became aware that he had formed part of the group of pioneer electronic / New Age musicians at the 70's. However, he never stopped composing and recording rock songs for himself. He has now started to re-record and produce many of them. Those included are spontaneous recordings, within the context of these radio programs, where he has also played synth pieces close to his style better known to the public. On the whole, the album presents a little of each one of the aspects of Cazenave's music; his romantic side, the cosmic one, and the one within the realm of Progressive Rock. A general trait of the album is the fact that the music happens to be very intense, vital, as if reflecting deep emotions. Some passages range between Progressive / Space Rock and the rising Electronic Cosmic Music of the 70's. Cazenave (keyboards, guitars and vocals), is accompanied by several guests in some themes.
