PAUL WINTER

"SOLSTICE LIVE!"

Living Music

The Cathedral of St. John the Divine, the largest Gothic cathedral in the world, is also the place where Paul Winter and his friends, once a year, celebrate the winter solstice. This CD was recorded live, with an audience of 3,000, and shows us what can we expect from this excellent musician. The album contains 19 tracks. All have been performed by The Paul Winter Consort (Winter, Paul Halley, Eugene Friesen, Rhonda Larson, Glen Velez, Jamey Haddad, Gordon Gottlieb, Mark Perchanok, Dorothy Papadakos, Russ Landau, Eliot Wadopian, Sammy Figueroa, Ted Moore and Café), but there are also other artists who contribute with the best of themselves: Nóirín Ní Riain, The Dimitri Pokrovsky Singers, Andes Manta, Nando Casals, Kecia Lewis-Evans, Scott Sloan and Dimitri Donders. The musicians, from very different backgrounds, join forces in a festival where creatures and cultures of the whole earth are remembered. Solstice Live! includes classic pieces, traditional and new compositions, and is the best alternative if you can't fly to New York the next year!
