BOUD DEUN

"THE STOLEN BICYCLE"

Cuneiform Records

Boud Deun appeared in early 1994. They are based in Virginia, USA, and are particularly well known for their live concerts. Their musical style is so diverse that they constantly crosse any boundaries you can imagine. Influences? Many: King Crimson, the Mahavishnu Orchestra, David Grisman, Leonard Bernstein and the great Igor Stravinsky. The Stolen Bicycle is their fourth CD, after three studio and one live albums. The quartet have a very diverse background, including jazz, classical music and punk, so it is not very surprising to hear them in this mainly instrumental work. There is something that you can also note very rapidly: the virtuosity of the musicians. The solos are really astonishing. Rocky Cancelose plays drums; Shawn Persingler, the guitar; Greg Hiser, the violin; and Matt Eiland plays the bass. The CD contains 18 pieces. And of course, don't forget to read the tale of the stolen bicycle!
