ASHRA

"SAUCE HOLLANDAISE"

Serie Poeme / Manikin & kdm

This is not only Ashra's first new album in nine years, but it's also their first official live album. It was recorded during the concert at the annual meeting of the electronic music fans association KLEM in Holland, on October 11, 1997. Three long themes constitute this compact disc. The style, electronic, agile and with a big use of sequencers, enters within the realm of Space Music, although with traits of Ambient, Trance and innovative Pop. Almost all the music is very dynamic, with powerful rhythms, although there also are slow parts. "Echo Waves" and "Niemand lacht ruckwarts" are composed by Manuel Göttsching. "Twelve Samples" is composed by Göttsching & Lutz Ulbrich. With Göttsching, Ulbrich and Harald Grosskopf, has collaborated the new member Steve Baltes who joined the band for the 1997 Japan tour. Baltes uses a rhythm computer to support Grosskopf on drums, and also plays the samplers. This release will satisfy both the followers of Ashra and those of Space Sequencer Music.
