LARRY KUCHARZ

"ELECTROCHORAL DREAMS"

International Audiochrome

After Metachoral Visions (1997), an album based around electronic choral sounds, Larry Kucharz decided to release a sequel. Electrochoral Dreams follows the path but, as he says, the sounds are more electronic. The CD contains 10 themes, all of them very harmonic and full of choral textures. The music is slow, but the synths/computers create long and dense, atmospheric melodies. Here, Kucharz has played Roland D-50, Korg Wavestation and Fairlight 3, so strings and choral sounds are the stars. The work, which is certainly different from the minimalist style used by Larry in other CDs, still has a piece that clearly follows it: "Portals". This release will probably satisfy to a wider audience.
