BILLY?

"BILLY? PLAYS FUNNY MOODS"

Yukinori Kikuti, Hirokazu Takagi, Kazuya Isigami y Tadasi Usami

Japanese band Billy? consists in Yukinori Kikuti, Hirokazu Takagi, Kazuya Isigami and Tadasi Usami. To make their music they use mostly sound collage techniques and electronic instruments. With Billy? plays funny moods we certainly don't have a conventional musical project. The music is very original and varied. The great dose of imagination that these artists have put in this work can be appreciated especially in the very same character of the music, which escapes almost any label. The melodies are dense, disquieting, and intertwine with the very structure of the rythms. In an atmosphere of mystery, electronic orchestras, elements of sonic collage, and occasional robotized rhythms, a series of pieces that flow among the Cosmic, the Industrial and the Psychedelic are built, besides reaching futuristic styles still to be fully shaped. On the whole, the work is like a collection of dreams or nightmares turned into music.
