ARTEMIY ARTEMIEV

"POINT OF INTERSECTION"

Electroshock Records

In this album, Artemiy Artemiev tries to find a point of intersection of two genres of music: electronic and electroacoustic. This singular experiment has a daring, provoking and innovative result. The five pieces that integrate the album, with a total running time of 75 minutes, encompass several different stylistic directions, even though synthesizers are the leading instruments. The music has an important effect of sonic shock in the listener, since it unites disparate elements to build some usually unclassifiable pieces. It is not so much experimenting for the sake of experimenting, but rather Artemiev build hypnotic melodies, mysterious atmospheres, surrealist sequences and unexpected electronic effects. This CD was recorded at the Electroshock Studio between September 1996 - January 1997.
