MACROMASSA

"PUERTA HELIOGABAL"

Sonifolk / Lyricon

The music by Macromassa possesses an unusual personality, very imaginative, capable of attracting the attention of the listener at once. In the current alternative musical panorama, there are bands and artists that have something new to say and others that don't. Macromassa no doubt belong to the former. This album has an important effect of sonic shock in the listener. It is not so much experimenting for the sake of experimenting, but rather Macromassa build unclassifiable music, with violent rhythms, obscure melodies and oneiric environments. During the 14 themes that constitute this release, we can hear traits from styles like Psychedelic Rock, Industrial, Ambient, and some very imaginative ones, too difficult to describe adequately. In some of the pieces, Victor Nubla and Juan Crek recite some texts with their mysterious voices. In several passages their voices are distorted by means of astounding sonic effects. All the themes have been composed by Nubla and Crek, except for "Dormitorio" and "Fusible", where Patri Martinez and Pep Figueras have collaborated. They also play some of the instruments. The following musicians also have participated in this work: Albert Gimenez (electric guitar), Markus A. Breuss (trumpet), Pere Boada (bass, Spanish guitar), Kasper T. Toeplitz (electric bass), and Eric Blanchard (cello).
