ØYSTEIN SEVAG

"BRIDGE"

Hearts of Space

Bridge is probably the culmination of a long, meditated changing process that is taking Øystein Sevag's career to its highest musical peaks. This Norwegian musician, much nearer to his acoustic roots, is now in an excellent phase where all his compositions, most beautiful as they are, touch the sensible points of the heart. Bridge also is his first album in Hearts of Space. Apparently far from the use of electronics (some time has gone by since Close Your Eyes and See), Sevag has begun to work with a classical orchestra of 50 musicians (the Philharmonia Orchestra of London), a string quartet and even has counted on his wife, German performer Maria Sevag, a virtuoso of the violin and the viola. The result is a more classical work than the previous ones, that even so maintains the elements that have brought fame to this artist. His fourth solo album then, prolongues his jazz, ambient and world music fusion, thus shaping a single whole that makes it into one of the most remarkable musicians in the European sphere.
