CUSCO

"APURIMAC III"

Prudence / BSC

Apurimac III, like its name indicates, is the third release of the German duo Cusco in their peculiar re-interpretation of the American traditional musics. In this occasion, the album is devoted to the native Americans from the North American tribes. These are 10 mainly electronic themes, ten instrumental songs that fusion modernity and current rythms with the charm of Indian folklore. The style of Cusco, as usual, is far from any ambient or transcendental trails. Their music is almost always fast, thrilling, percussive on occasion, a continuous homage to tribal dances. It is difficult to decide whether this is a better, equal or worse work than the previous two Apurimac, yet it is true that it no doubt is one of the best albums the band has released lately.
