EDWARD ARTEMIEV

"A BOOK OF IMPRESSIONS"

Electroshock Records

This album gathers 10 pieces from 1975 to 1996. They are composed by Edward Artemiev, a pioneer among pioneers and a giant of the musical avantgarde far longer than the creativity of many composers tends to last. Besides its artistic value, this CD also has an unarguable importance as a firsthand sound witness in the history of electronic music. Quite a lot of the pieces are experimental, showing the most risky aspects of Artemiev's style. We can enjoy several of his most legendary pieces, as for example "Peregrini" (1975), an inspired composition where the composer proved his great imagination by creating an impressive electronic music, with powerful sequencers, stormy atmospheres, and melodies of a great emotional intensity. All tracks were remixed by Edward Artemiev in 2000.
