PROGETTO AVANTI

"ORCHESTRAL ILLUSIONS"

Finlandia Records / Warner Music

The guitarist duo Progetto Avanti, formed by Hakan Frennesson and Max Gossell, presents in this album a compilation of pieces by classical composers, performed by them in versions for two guitars. The contents of the CD is as follows: "Allegro with spirita", "Adagio" and "Allegro gentile" from the "Concierto de Aranjuez" by Joaquin Rodrigo, "Morning Mood", "Aase's Death", "Anitra's Dance" and "In the Hall of the Mountain King" from "Peer Gynt Suite No.1, op.46" by Edvard Grieg, "Allegro", "Romance", "Menuetto & Trio" and "Rondo" from "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, Serenade in G major, KV 525" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, "Allegro giusto", "Long", and "Allegro" from "Concerto in D major for strings, lute and basso continuo" by Antonio Vivaldi. The warm style of both musicians, and their virtuosity, granted them such comments as the one by Joaquin Rodrigo himself, who in 1992 stated that the adaptation for two guitars of the "Concierto de Aranjuez" made by the duo was the most dignified and acceptable one he had ever got to know.
