PHIL THORNTON

"SORCERER, THE MASK OF SEDUCTION"

New World

Two long suites of twenty minutes each integrate this album by Phil Thornton. The style is based on World Music, but it also incorporates some classical symphonic elements, These latter can mostly be appreciated in the melodies. Both pieces have percussive rhythms. The instruments used here range from synthesizers to the typical ones in certain ethnic musics, like for instance the Australian Didgeridoo. With Thornton have collaborated Darren Green, Mike Rogers, and John Wilde (who performs certain canticles that sound husky in some passages).
