VULCAN'S CHILD

"HEALING"

Trans-Hyperborean Institute of Science

Healing, by Vulcan's Child, is a work that can hardly be labelled. Designed by its authors with clear practical intentions, it is a product, to say the least, curious and original. Thus, the members of the band appear to have revealed the healing powers of a short sequence of notes, aimed at healing at a physical or psychological level, these notes being performed in numerous tonal and instrumental ways, and made available to the listeners so that they may find in them those passages they believe to be most suitable. Vulcan's Child consider that the healing effects can be awakened in a natural way within one's body, in such a way that their function has been to look for the combination of notes which allows for the awakening of this healing response that would be dwelling in our inner selves. This combination of sounds, a product of a mathematical abstraction stemming from multiple clues, gives way to an only sequence of notes, so we must not wonder that it is repeated throughout the entire album with multiple variations. This is why the pieces can be listened to in no particular order, just as one wishes to, at a great variety of volumes, and as often as one wishes its effects to be noticed. Musically speaking, listening to the album surely has a relaxing effect, yet it is the different ways to play the simple melody (electronic, acoustic) what matters most for the listener. Therefore this is not an album for those who look for music in the widest sense of this word: Healing has some precise objectives and to them its artistic form and its structure as an album are tightly bound.
