SUZANNE CIANI

"PIANISSIMO II"

Seventh Wave

Pianissimo II is another one of Suzanne Ciani's albums in which this American composer turns to her exclusively acoustic side, or what is the same, the use of the piano. The synthesizers are left behind to give way to a more romantic musical style, even for some themes that in their day were produced and performed with electronic instruments. Certainly Ciani, apart from three previously unreleased themes, includes a selection of 12 of her more famous compositions, created from 1983 till today, adapted to the classical piano. This is the ninth studio album by Suzanne, and the second one after Pianissimo in which, as its name hints, she only utilizes this acoustic instrument. This release was nominated for the 1996 Grammy for the category of Best New Age Album. Wrapped into an excellent sound, the piano versions such as "The Velocity of Love" or "Hotel Luna", acquire a new dimension that no doubt will attract the audience. The album also contains a CDROM track adapted for PC and Mac, in which a great deal of information about Pianissimo II and Suzanne Ciani can be found, as well as video and sound clips performed by the artist.
