NEURONIUM

"ALMA"

Tuxedo Music

Alma was originally released in 1987 to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the band Neuronium. It contained historical material from a whole decade in which the most important electronic music band settled in Spain showed everything they had been able to do. Now, another ten years later, Michel Huygen (the main artist who shaped Neuronium's success during that time and up to now) offers us a new remastered, remixed version that besides contains a CD ROM track for Mac computers in which his friend and great collaborator Tomás Gilsanz, a painter having a special sensitivity, re-creates for us a true visual and sonic voyage. Huygen has taken care of cleansing the original master from noise, transferring it to his system of digital recording in hard disk and using a 20-bit mastering. The album, which has a new cover, includes four themes in which Huygen himself, plus Carlos Guirao, Santi Picó, Miguel Guillamat and José Menat participated. In them we will find a good part of the essence of Neuronium in their first stages, with ethereal compositions full of sensitivity and electronic romanticism, as well as a great final suite lasting for a long time, cosmic and with a truly shattering sequenced rhythm. In a few words, this is an ideal album for those listeners who do not know the first ten years of the history of the band yet, and who now wish to update their knowledge by benefiting from the latest multimedia and recording technologies.
