This album gathers recordings from Albania by Marcel Cellier, of traditional pieces played by local musicians. The Albanian folk music is quite different from that of any other country in the world; not only because of its style but also because it even uses a musical scale different from the Tempered one. The international isolation of this country during the Communist era caused their folklore to become almost the only possible way for musical expression for the artists, which has allowed for it to be preserved with an unusual freshness.
