MUSIC BY MICHEL HUYGEN (NEURONIUM) IN A DIPLOMATIC CD-ROM.

Europe, November 2. Among the activities carried out by Michel Huygen during this last year, most noteworthy is, given its unusual character, his work for a CD-ROM released by the Spanish government, which is not for sale, and which has been distributed in a limited way in the diplomatic channels as a vehicle for information on Spain, as at the time Spain assumed the presidential role of the Council of the European Union during the second semester in 1995. This CD-ROM, designed as an artistic product rather than as a technical one, can function as a computer program or as a conventional CD. In this latter mode, it gathers 15 musical pieces created by different composers, one for each country that is a member of the European Union. The theme devoted to Spain, called España en clave futura (Spain in a Future Key), was composed by Huygen. Besides, he has been in charge of the soundtrack accompanying images and films contained in the computer sector of the CD. Some of the passages, as for instance an air trip over natural landscapes, include very spectacular music.
