LEO FILLOY

Leo Filloy is born in 1960 in Córdoba, Argentina. He grows up in a musical environment, his mother being a performer and piano professor. He gives his first musical performances by playing the bass at age 8. Later he studies the guitar and the piano at the conservatories in his home town. In 1980 he studies the technique of improvisation in jazz while at the same time studying composition at the National University of Córdoba. He also experiments in musical sound-effects of images, which leads him to produce several short movies and perfomances.

In 1989, already in Spain, he develops numerous works as a sesion musician and in the arrangements of music in album recordings and begins to compose themes that later will shape his first record, Noche Ambar, in 1991.

His musical work is based in the use of electronic instruments and in the melody with jazz roots, although fused with African rhythms and even eastern atmospheres.
