JOHN DOAN

"WAYFARER"

Hearts of Space

Doan, the master harp guitarist, invite us to a Celtic pilgrimage. Wayfarer contains 11 themes, all composed by him. His inspiration comes from several journeys to sacred Celtic places, where people have been looking for answers during the last millennium. Doan uses a 20 string harp guitar. This is the main instrument, but there are others with an important presence. For example, the great Billy Oskay plays violin and viola, and Jim Chapman plays whistle. Randal Bays, Phil & Gale Neumann, Cantores Ecclesia, Nancy Ives, Mike Syder and Carl Scott also contribute to the album. The previous work by John Doan (Eire: Isle of the Saints) was voted "Best Celtic Album of the Year" by the NAV Music Awards. Wayfarer will probably follow the same path: it is a vibrant, visual soundscape, a perfect blend between Celtic tradition and modern ideas.
