Previous Page (Galleries).Arvo Pärt was born in Esthonia in 1935, had a classical musical formation at the Conservatory of Tallin, and initiated his career as a composer in the late fifties. In 1980 he left the USSR and got the Austrian nationality, later settling in West Berlin. He has written numerous scores of a classical style with innovative elements, and also movie soundtracks. He has been awarded numerous prizes and awards.
